Life Factors Introduction
In May 2010 a new section called Life Factors was added to the SmarterMeasure learning readiness indicator. The research literature on student success and retention concludes that many times students drop out of school because of factors in their life that complicate their educational process. These factors include realities like having to work too many hours at their job, not having support from family & employers, financial challenges, health factors, etc. The Life Factors section of SmarterMeasure measures the degree to which these "life factors" may inhibit their educational progress.
To learn more about the new Life Factors section view the 12 minute video and 20 item instrument below.
The Life Factors section is an optional section and can be easily omitted by any organization that chooses not to offer it to their students. However, we think you'll find the data gathered in this section to be as useful indicator of the type of obstacles an individual may face while continuing their education. You can also control the order in which the new section is presented to your students.
If you have any questions please contact your Account Manager or you may email sales@smarterservices.com.
